Steve Rogers Fic

Just posted a short Steve Rogers fic on AO3 - it is more of a meta/gen fic than anything else. I wrote it after watching and rewatching both Captain America films and the Avengers and becoming rather obsessed with how Steve really was adapting to life in the 21st Century. As a daughter of a WWII vet I couldn't help but think of how different his life was to those of his peers.

It's an incredibly lovely and insightful fic. Thank you for pointing me to it.

As for tags, I'd remove the meta tag - I was expecting something entirely different because of that tag.

I'd add "Marvel Cinematic Universe" for fandom, and "Pre-Captain America: The Winter Soldier" in the additional tags.

And perhaps add "James 'Bucky' Barnes & Steve Rogers" for relationships. This is just so more people find the story, really. :) (The & says clearly that it is not a slash fic but Steve&Bucky friendship fic).

Is the old man in the wheelchair the life-partner of Marcus Nielsen? :)

Thank you so much for reading Taps and your kind comments. I've adjusted the tags accordingly. Marcus was the man in the wheelchair's partner - I had originally envisioned, and started writing, Steve and the man talking after the service, etc. but the storyline kind of drifted and I decided to leave it as it is.

I actually like that it's never openly said that the old man and Marcus were lovers. I don't think this would be a thought that Steve consciously has, and it's hinted at beautifully in the fic to comment on his own friendship with Bucky. :)
