My Year in Writing

I hope everyone has the New Year's celebration that they most enjoy, whether it is spending it alone with a good book or in a crowd with glasses of champagne. If you are interested, here is my fandom summary, etc for the year...
Writing Summary:
Most underappreciated by the universe: Smoke and Mirrors. It got very few hits but I think it is definitely one of my best stories.
Most fun to write: (again) Smoke and Mirrors. I got to google whip-making, proper D/s behavior, and more kinky things. What could be better? Here's a listing of my google searches from when I was writing it.
Most intense fic: Smoke and Mirrors
Saddest fic: Say Something
Funniest fic: No funny ones this year...
Fic that shifted my own perception of the characters: Smoke and Mirrors also had a background pairing of Charlie/Remus, one that I would very much like to explore more. I think they make a beautiful pairing.
Hardest to do: Casablanca - my remix of
digthewriter's wonderful Of All the Gin Joints
Beyond writing...
Your favorite film you watched this year? The National Theatre Live production of Coriolanus (with
impishtubist!)
Your favorite books read this year? The Martian by Andrew Weir and Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger.
Your biggest squee moment of the year? Watching a lot of Dan Radcliffe interviews, etc on youtube. I really appreciate how he has matured and evolved in the last few years.
What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before? Write BDSM
Favorite memory of 2014? The driving trip 'out west' I took with my family. We covered nine states, five national parks, 3,200 miles (5,140 km). The kids were great through all the hours in the car and we had a wonderful time.
Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I'm 49, don't do resolutions anymore.
What would you like to accomplish in 2015? Go to England for my 50th birthday
What did you do new in 2014? Joined Tumblr
How will you be spending New Year's? So far I've did a quick post chapter of Firebond so that I could up my year-writing total by a measly 3,500 and now will drink brandy old fashions with my fam and play Jenga.
