Day Two's Challenge: In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul. I've been mulling this over and at 51 there have been many books/songs/movies/tv shows that have had an impact on my life. But the one(s) that stand out are the Harry Potter books because they changed the trajectory of my life. I hadn't written words for pleasure in years (decades) but reading JKR's work, and re-reading, and listening to the audio, and watching the movies flipped a switch that I haven't been able to turn off. Six years after my first story I've written some 800,000 words. I can't stop thinking, day-dreaming, about ideas and plots and storylines. Both of my own creation and playing with her characters and plotlines. Being in the Harry Potter fandom has also introduced me to some pretty amazing and talented people, opening a whole new world of friendships.
