PLAGIARISM/SELLING FOR PROFIT

I AM SO FUCKING ANGRY.

SOMEONE HAS POSTED ON LULU PAPERBACK COPIES OF TWIST OF FATE. WHAT THE FUCKING HELL? Purportedly they have it available in English and French????

I did the takedown notice - but used Oakstone730 instead of my own name so I don't know if this Lulu site will pay attention to it. WHAT DO I DO NEXT? I'm at work and so spitting angry.

UPDATE: got an email from Lulu that they've taken down the content and are reviewing my claim. That should be the end of it since it is clear on the FF.net site when I started posting it, etc. There are other people's stories being sold there though - just search fanfiction. I only recognized one writer (ivyblossom) and have sent her a message.

It's incredible. The nerve these people got. (The people who wrote the computer programs to do such rip-offs of fanfiction.) Perhaps the folks from [livejournal.com profile] stop_plagiarism know what you can do next.

Excellent suggestion - thank you.

I am so sorry that someone has taken such advantage of you. sarahs_girl had the same issue with someone posting her work under their name.
Writers are so generous with their time and talent and to be ripped off like this is just such a violation.

What really scares me is that they are SELLING the books. Which obviously violates JKR's copyright of her characters. And they are selling the books under MY fandom name. I'm just.... sick.

You would think they would recognize the copyright violation and their liability selling them.

Oh my god, this is terrible! What the fucking fuck???

I'm glad they took down the content, I hope they are able to deal with this issue. Jesus. I'm sorry this happened, darling. *hugs*

Thank you, honey. I'm still in a bit of a funk about it. That someone would not only steal the work but try to *SELL* it? I just don't understand those kind of people. I hope no one bought a copy but there is no way of knowing... GRRR.

I have no words.

Un-fucking-believable

I know. It is frustrating. )$(*%$)(*% I just don't understand these kind of people.

How completely stressful for you! Truly some people have no shame. I hope this gets resolved quickly and to your satisfaction.

The webstore has taken down the copies so they can review my claim. I really hope this is the end of it but the experience has put me into a funk and makes me wonder what else is out there that I don't know about.
